Pragyan is an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 20121:2012 certified, student-run, non-profit organization of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. It conducts an annual 4-day International Techno-Management Fest under its aegis and the 15th edition of Pragyan is scheduled from the 14th to the 17th of March, 2019. More details about Pragyan can be found on our website mentioned below.

The motto of Pragyan is ‘Let’s Celebrate Technology’. Following our mission, we organise Sangam – Hardware Hackathon, the Innovation Competition for our college students. It attracts the brightest minds of the college and finds huge participation from all domains. For more details regarding Sangam, visit https://pragyan.org/sangam/

This year, we have pivoted Sangam across three themes:

·      Healthcare & Lifesciences.

·      Energy & Environment.

·      Defence & Industrial Technology.

Sangam is a platform that encourages students in bringing their ideas to reality. After rounds of scrutinizing, we have shortlisted 25 of the most promising projects to nurture and help them transform into marketready products. For this, we provide them with mentorship by experts from academia and industry.

Sangam tries its best to provide the projects all the resources they need to flourish. However, in order to scale the project and generate substantial value to the market, financial assistanceincreased poolof resources and support are required.

We request you, as an alumnus of NIT Trichy to express interest in aiding the team(s) financially, technically and in all ways, you may think possible. We have attached the project drafts for all the 25 projects to help you know more about what exactly each of the teams is working on.

We believe that with a bit of support from your end, the students will be able to break free of any suppressing constraints and display their complete potential while bringing their ideas to fruition.

We ensure that the financial assistance or otherwise that you will provide to the teams will be utilized completely for the progress of their work, and you will be kept updated throughout the process. For more details regarding this process, please contact us.

The projects will be put on exhibition during Pragyan ’19March 14th -17th (14/03/2019 – 17/03/2019). We invite you to come down to Pragyan and witness a grand celebration of technology.

The intra-collegiate technical competition, Sangam is a platform for engineering enthusiasts to come together to work on an idea and endeavour relentlessly to make it come alive. It stands as an arena for innovation, technological brilliance and most of all, an opportunity to build the future.

The major aim is to design and fabricate a stretcher that can be loaded with the injured person and transported by a single person in the battle field easily and quickly. It should also be compact, foldable and lightweight and must absorb the shocks created in the system so as to prevent secondary injuries being caused to the wounded soldiers. The stretcher must also be able to traverse rough terrains and should provide easy methods of transport across huge obstacles and hurdles.

  1. Shadow Bot :

The main objective of the design is to design a robot which can be used to infiltrate into enemy bases and locate potential threats if any from a remote secure location without having to risk the lives of human in the course of surveillance. The onboard controller also sends real-time data acquired from the subjected environment to the command centre using wifi through the wifi-module.

  1. Siraghugal :

This project designs a system that uses the existing cellular network infrastructure for monitoring the drones by validating the operational parameters like altitude, GPS coordinates which are sent from the on-board computer (SCU) to cloud via GSM network which is checked against a set of predefined threshold parameters on the cloud (SC) which can be manipulated by admin. An error message is sent back to the pilot in case of parameter violation. This process is done repeatedly throughout the flight to ensure safety.

  1. Supreme Creed :

A feasible Unmanned Ground Vehicle with 50 kg payload. It has a symmetrical ellipsoidal design to create unstable equilibrium, the diagonal positioning of motor facilitates self-extraction and

separately driven motors to drag the UGV out of snow. An avalanche victim detector can be used to detect soldier buried under snow.

  1. The flying Machine : Morphing Wing Ornithopter

The project aims at designing a smart Morphing wing Ornithopter which has the ability to change its wing shape according to the hovering conditions. This concept is the inspiration taken from birds which usually alters their wing area and orientation using feathers when flying.
